Rock Scrambling in the Lake District
A hands-on mountain adventure.
Rock scrambling bridges the gap between walking and climbing, taking you onto steeper ground where you’ll use your hands as well as your feet to make progress. Expect rocky steps, slabs, short chimneys and exposed sections as we work our way towards a Lakeland summit.
It’s a brilliant, involved way to experience the mountains, with plenty of movement and a real sense of adventure as the views open out around you.

How high are the climbs on the route?
Scrambling involves continuous movement on steep terrain using both hands and feet.
Sections range from short steps of around 2 metres to steeper, roped climbs of up to around 6 metres. You will often be exposed to the drop below.
Do I have to do the climbs?
Your instructor will choose a route that suits your ability, but scrambling involves continuous movement on steep terrain.
You will be exposed to the drop below, and the climbs and steps are a core part of the experience.
Will I get photos from the session?
We take photos throughout the session and share them afterwards at no extra cost.
