Climbing in the Langdale sunshine

This page is about experiencing a beginner’s rock climb as a half-day adventure experience.

We also offer:

  • Rock climbing courses: for those who want to learn the skills to enable them to rock climb on their own. Course for complete beginners to experienced climbers
  • Guided rock climbing: full-day ‘graded’ rock climbing routes in the high mountains

Rock climbing is based in Langdale. You will be sent full details on where to meet when you book.

A useful (very rough) postcode for planning purposes is LA22 9JU, but please be aware that this covers a large area and therefore using Sat Nav programmed with this postcode can often be unreliable.

We also have a venue that is in the north Lakes, close to Keswick. If you would like to book this venue instead then please contact us and we will check availablity for you.

Anyone aged 8 and above.

Any group members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian. Sorry but uncles, aunties, grandparents, family friends etc are not classed as legal guardians.

The climbs are about 10m high and they vary in difficulty from super easy to super hard. This means that we can tailor the session to fit with the abilities of any group.

There is a short walk uphill to where we climb. Climbing involves pushing with your legs and pulling with you hands to make progress, so a reasonable level of fitness will help, but it's not essential.

You don't need any experience.

There are no weight limits.

Our safety kit will not fit someone with a waist that is larger than 150cm.

We will share a kit list with you when you book, but all you really need are warm and waterproof ‘outdoor’ clothes and footwear. We will provide all safety equipment such as harnesses and helmets.

We take loads of photos and we share them with you for free.

They start at either 9am or 1pm and last for 3 hours. For availability, click the blue 'Book Now / Check Availability' button above.
