Ages and abilities: The Triple Gorge challenge works well for older kids through to adults, so from age 12 upwards. For younger groups check out our other trips. A reasonable level of fitness and a taste for adventure will definitely help as this is a full on day with a lot of time in the water! No prior experience of gorge scrambling is needed and you don’t need to be able to swim. Under 18s must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Location: The 3 gorges are located close to Keswick, in Langdale and in Coniston. Precise details of the start location will be shared with you when you book. You will need your own transport and be prepared to drive for a maximum of 45 mins in between gorges.
Times: The day runs from 9am 5pm. Exact finish timings depend on the size of your group and how quickly you move through the gorges.
Kit: We will kit you out with a dry wetsuit, windproof cag and all safety equipment such as harnesses, helmets and buoyancy aids. All our kit is in excellent condition and is replaced regularly. All you need to bring is:
Group sizes and ratios: Generally, we run private, bespoke sessions for just you and your party. At busy times you might be part of a larger group. We put your safety first so the maximum instructor:client ratio that we will work to is 1:10 – if your party is bigger than 10 people then there will be more than one instructor.
