Ghyll scrambling in Church Beck – Family Session (Ages 8+)

- Parking: Pay & display car park with some free street parking nearby
- Kit we provide: Good quality wetsuits; full safety kit including buoyancy aids
- Kit you need to bring: Trainers; base-layer t-shirt; towel/robe; dry clothes
A more relaxed version of the best ghyll scramble in the Lakes
Designed for families and groups with younger children, this session takes place in the lower section of the ghyll, with a fun journey upstream and plenty of exciting, achievable challenges along the way. Expect small jumps, easy climbs and lots of optional obstacles, with the freedom to take part at a level that suits everyone in the group.
If your group includes older children (12+), you may prefer our standard Church Beck session, which covers different sections of the ghyll and includes more challenging features.

This trip pairs particularly well with abseiling or rock climbing to create a full day of activity.

How high are the jumps?
The largest jump is around 2 metres, and all jumps are optional.
Do I have to do the jumps?
No - all jumps and obstacles are optional. Your instructor will guide you through the session and you can take part at a level that suits you.
Will I get photos from the session?
We take photos throughout the session and share them afterwards at no extra cost.
