The Langdale Canyon Adventure
The perfect adventure when river levels are high.
When water levels affect other ghylls and canyons, this venue often comes into its own. It’s a proper canyoning adventure, especially in tougher conditions.
This trip involves climbing waterfalls using ropes, moving through fast-flowing water and journeying steadily upstream towards a dramatic waterfall amphitheatre. The final climb offers a fitting finish to a route that feels adventurous throughout.

Got questions? Read on...
How high are the jumps?
There are not any large jumps - however there is a plunge pool.
Do I have to do the jumps and climbs?
No - all jumps and obstacles are optional. Your instructor will guide you through the session and you can take part at a level that suits you.
What is the difference between ghyll scrambling and canyoning?
Ghyll scrambling is more accessible. You move upstream through a mountain river, with slides, small climbs and optional obstacles - everything can be avoided if needed.
Canyoning is more technical and committing. It is usually done in descent and often involves ropes to abseil waterfalls, with higher and more committing jumps.
