Abseiling in the Lake District

Lean back, trust the rope and take the first step off the edge.

Join us and abseil down a vertical slate wall in a dramatic Lakeland setting. That first lean back gets the heart rate up – and then suddenly you’re in control, lowering yourself smoothly down the rock with nothing but space below your feet.

We provide all safety equipment and clear, supportive instruction, to help you feel confident from the moment you clip in. Most people abseil down once, look up… and then want to go again.

How fit do I need to be? Do I need experience?

A moderate level of fitness is required, as there is a steep path to climb after you have done the abseil.

No prior experience is needed.

How high are the abseils?

The abseils range from around 20 to 45 metres.

Will I get photos from the session?

We take photos throughout the session and share them afterwards at no extra cost.

We did Gyll Scrambling, brilliant activity to do while visiting the lakes Kids aged 9&10, they love the outdoors and are fearless so they got stuck straight in and we all had a brilliant afternoon together Highly recommend if looking for something a little different to do

My 10 year old son and I did the ghyll scramble at Coniston with Mark yesterday… what an amazing experience… we both loved it, great bonding time, we did climbing techniques, slid down waterfalls, jumped into plunge pools, floated around and scrambled… I chose to wear my waterproof Hokas with foam soles … they were amazing buoyancy aids :-) which made putting my feet down a little tricky… but I could float like an otter very easily! Excellent knowledge from mark and great encouragement throughout, we felt safe and challenged throughout!
