The 160ft abseil at Cathedral
Abseiling in the Lake District is great fun for groups and is also a really good way of tiring out the kids. It works really well as a half-day session, enabling you to create your perfect multi-activity day by marrying this activity up with half a day of rock climbing, scrambling, gorge scrambling (aka. ghyll scrambling) or canyoning.
Abseiling is also perfect for Hen and Stag parties and is brilliant as part of a team building day of Lake District activities for corporate clients.
If you’re wondering what it is like to spend the day abseiling with us, then check out this great write up by one of our clients who joined us recently for a day of Lake District activities >> http://heelwalker1.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/rocks-ropes-conquering-fear-with.html
All abilities & ages welcome

The Hodge Close abseil
Ages and abilities: Abseiling works for all ages and abilities, from age 8 upwards. We have more friendly walls to drops that will definitely make your legs shake! Under 18s must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Group sizes and ratios: Generally, we run private, bespoke Lake District activities for just you and your party. At busy times you might be part of a larger group. We put your safety first so the maximum instructor:client ratio that we will work to is 1:8 – if your party is bigger than 8 people then there will be more than one instructor.
Venue: We will choose a venue that suits your aspirations and minimises the travelling that you need to do, but generally abseiling is in the south Lakes near to Coniston.
Kit: We will share a kit list with you when you book, but all you really need are warm and waterproof ‘outdoor’ clothes and footwear. We will provide all safety equipment such as harnesses and helmets, plus buoyancy aids and wetsuits if you are joining us gorge scrambling or canyoning. All our kit is in excellent condition and is replaced regularly.
Times: ½ a day runs from 9am to around 12pm or from 1pm to around 4pm. A full day runs from 9am to 4pm, with a break for some lunch, or to move to the next activity.
