Abseiling in the Lake District is great fun for groups and is also a really good way of tiring out the kids. It works really well as a half-day session, enabling you to create your perfect multi-activity day by marrying this activity up with half a day of rock climbing, scrambling, gorge scrambling (aka. ghyll scrambling) or canyoning.
Abseiling is also perfect for Hen and Stag parties and is brilliant as part of a team building day https://lakedistrictactivities.co.uk/adventure-days/canyoning/of Lake District activities for corporate clients.

A great idea is to ‘mix-and-match’ to make a full day of activities, with one in the morning and another in the afternoon. See all the options here.

Any group members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian. Sorry but uncles, aunties, grandparents, family friends etc are not classed as legal guardians.

How fit do I need to be? Do I need experience?
Fitness isn't that important as abseiling is all downhill! There is however a scramble up some rocks to get back to the top. This takes about 5 minutes and is relatively steep.
You don't need any experience - we'll teach you how to abseil and support you all the way.
Are there any size and weight limits?
There is no weight limit but we do have a maximum waist and chest size, as our safety kit will not fit a person larger than this. These sizes follow.
Maximum waist size: 150cm
Maximum chest size: 152cm
If you have any concerns, please contact us.
What kit will I need?
We will share a kit list with you when you book, but all you really need are warm and waterproof ‘outdoor’ clothes and footwear. We will provide all safety equipment such as harnesses and helmets.
If you have them (and if you think you're the type of person who is going to want to go fast!) bring a tough pair of gloves (gardening gloves work well).
Do you take photos?
We take loads of photos and we share them with you for free.
